Galazia Productions is an independent Film & TV company founded in 2023 by producer Karima Sammout Kanellopoulou.
Karima is a Greek-Syrian producer based in London. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of York and a Minor degree in Media and Communications from the American College of Greece. After a career in film marketing, Karima undertook an MA in Producing at the prestigious National Film & Television School where she produced multiple live-action, documentary and animation short films. Many of them collected awards, including Best Live Action Short at Warsaw International Film Festival for her first film CULLING directed by Matty Crawford.
Karima has worked as a freelance reader for BFI Network and Alfonso Cuaron's Esperanto Filmoj and as a Production & Development Executive at Quiddity Films. She has also trained as a Wellbeing Facilitator on set.
Galazia Productions is currently engaged in a range of exciting projects, showcasing bold storytelling and emerging talent. STOMACH BUG, directed by Matty Crawford and executive produced by BBC Film, is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) as part of the prestigious Short Cuts/Strange Cuts programme.
Also on the slate is THE PAINTING & THE STATUE, a captivating film by Freddie Fox, featuring standout performances from Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education) and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits) among others.
In addition, HORNY, directed by Hannah Leopard, recently won the Shore Scripts Competition and is now in post-production. With this momentum, Galazia is pushing boundaries and embracing fresh, unique voices in film.
Looking ahead, Galazia is currently developing two feature films: NON-ZERO SUM GAME, written by Jordan Chandler, and TIYANAK, another gripping project from Matty Crawford. Both films promise to continue their tradition of innovative and impactful storytelling centered around alienated and peculiar characters.
